Well, considering that Moonreader has been abandoning and neglecting Hikari-chan, i decided to post up a little something that I’ve gotten today…
Dream Walker – Singapore published manga.

Got this today during the Kino 20% sale. Since it’s a Singapore made doujin, though I’d pick it up. After reading here are my reviews…
Art: 6/10
The cover art is nice and great which got onto my good side. The internal art is not bad though I think personally it can be further improved especially the fight scenes. Certain fight frames/panels need more details considering that the previous frames made an impact but the following ones lack in the details which makes it lose the dramatic feel or the battle feeling. Character designs wise, aside from the main female and male lead, the rest are pretty plain compared to them. Not to mention the “unique” features which sends obvious hints on who is gonna be paired with who. Certain character can be seen slightly referenced from different anime like Orihime from Bleach and Daniel (cat) from Shinigami no Ballad. Oher than details, I have nothing else against the art.
Story: 5/10
Story’s about a girl called Yuu who is chasing monsters in dreams to prevent them from eating the souls of the people which would result in deaths in their down. Together with friends, she sets off to stop all of them (well, simplified version of whatever is in the synopsis). Classic mahou shojo style with the usual “love partner” and “rival”, learning how to use the powers and having a tutor. It’s kinda cliche… I’ve nothing about the dream walker concept because it is unique and i’d love to see the story develop but the cliche stuff gets on my nerves sometimes.. Or rather, I can predict what comes next.. Hopefully, it’ll develop into something unexpected.
Overall: 6/10
The cover page misled me that it was a good manga. =X But I’ll continue to support this manga because I wan to see how this artist matures and develops the story. It’s an interesting read so I do not mind buying it and seeing how the artist gets better. That is all for my review for Dream Walker.
I’ll be back if I get the time to update again~

It’s interesting when countries do their own manga. A while back Tokyopop published an american manga (100% homegrown) about a chinese guy who owned a noodle shop and had terrible english skills. And the noodle shop could turn into a mech. Now I look back on it, the art seemed like a cross between NEEDLESS and typical american cartoons (not comics though).
I will be honest and say that when I’m browsing manga in-store I will ignore it if it has a non-Japanese name. Usually I just think that they will never be as good as (It’s a bit stereotypical of me). But in this case I think Singapore made a good attempt at it, and it’s good you’re following it through!
